Steel Chimneys

Before the institution of a product diversification policy under the management of the present owner, the original major activity of the company was the specialised area of design, manufacture and erection of all types of steel chimneys and associated flue ducting. This activity was, and still is, complemented by insurance related inspections and the resultant repair work should this be found to be required.

New installations are generally required as simple replacements for existing chimneys and ductwork or where a facility is in need of an increase in capacity.

The design work is almost invariably site specific as dictated by boiler, incinerator or exhaust stack capacity demand and/or site constraints. Accurate site measurement, precise duty definition and expert design are therefore essential. Ductwork linking the source of flue gas and its evacuation route via a chimney demands that the interface design has to be of the highest accuracy, sometimes requiring test assembly in the workshop before delivery to site. System uprating projects with increased flue gas flow capacity and modernised single or multi-flue chimney design are particularly demanding in this respect

Design requirements are covered through the conceptual, arrangement and detailed manufacturing drawing stages by the in-house CAD drafting team.
